It’s a Geometric World, 1st grade project (Day 3) by Ms. Trowbridge’s First Graders

Today first graders in A2 reviewed our Need to Knows and Vocabulary words.  We continued with our sorting activity from yesterday and talked about what shapes had in common and learned that attributes “are a way to tell shapes apart.”  (Paola)  “We made a chart showing the sides and corners of 5 different shapes.”  (Jay) “We learned vertices equals corners.”  (Bin)

During our STEM class today, “we learned about 3-D shapes.”  (Pedro)  “We made 3-D shapes out of clay.”  (Ximena)

For homework tonight we are going to be looking for shapes around our house and will be cutting out pictures from newspapers or magazines of shapes we find and we can bring in examples of shapes that we find at home.

Check back tomorrow to see what we added to our chart!
