It’s a Geometric World, 1st grade project (Day 5) by Ms. Trowbridge’s First Graders

We reviewed our Driving Question, Need to Knows, and “defined some vocabulary words like straight, equal, slanted, short, curved, and long.”  (Jadine)

During math centers, “we walked around and looked for shapes.”  (Alaiya)  “We counted the shapes we had in a baggie and colored in how many we had on the graph.” (Christian)

We have also been learning about penguins this week.  Did you know, “penguins are camouflaged when they are in the water?”  (Paola) Today, “we got pattern blocks and filled in two penguins using the blocks.”  (Pedro)

We finished our quilt squares today and “we made one big class quilt.”  (Tatiana) Hope you like it!

Next week, we’re going to continue to learn about plane shapes and we’ll be doing more fun activities to help us learn more about shapes.
