It’s a Geometric World, 1st grade project (Day 8) by Ms. Trowbridge’s First Graders

Today we “cut out some paper shapes and then we glued them on construction paper to make a shape house.  After we were done we wrote down how many shapes we used.”  (Jadine) “The shapes we used were triangles, circles, rectangles, and squares.”  (Christian) “Our groups each got papers with all the shapes and we had to share them.”  (Johana)

This afternoon we printed our pictures from our walk around campus and sorted the pictures based on where we found the items.  We looked for items “in the office” (Pedro), “in the cafeteria” (Yaritza), “around campus” (Jadine), “on the playground” (Giovanny), and “in the classroom.”  (Paola)  Then, each group “glued the shapes they found on a big paper to put on our board.”  (Jay)  “We wrote labels for each shape we took a picture of.”  (Yaritza)
