Today students were given an assessment to gauge understanding of our work with equal shares this week. The first part asked student to divide different shapes into either 2 or 4 equal parts and to shade in a portion of those parts. On this assessment, students scored an average of 84%. The second part had students determine whether or not different shapes were divided equally or unequally. 85% was the class average on this portion of the assessment. We’ll spend additional time talking about equal shares as we continue through the project.
This afternoon, student continued to decorate their leprechaun traps in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day on Monday. We’re all hoping to catch a pesky leprechaun!
Next week, we’ll begin to look at 3-D shapes and their attributes, re-visit Need to Knows and Vocabulary on our PBL project wall, add information to our project folders, and begin construction of shape monsters using 3-D shapes.
