5th graders in Mrs. Hansen-Vera & Ms. George’s class use the 3-2-1 strategy to have students reflect on their learning. Students are encouraged to think about their WHOLE day. They list key things they learned, record moments when they felt proud of themselves, and ask questions. Sometimes the questions aren’t always connected to the day’s learning objectives – and that is ok! We’re building a strong culture with our students, and ALL of their questions are important. The 3-2-1 is an opportunity for students to put their day together and let’s them reflect. It also is a strong formative assessment for teachers. Just by taking a glance, Mrs. Hansen-Vera & Ms. George knows what kind of day their kiddos had! It continuously drives their instruction!
