It’s a Geometric World, 1st grade project (Day 27) by Ms. Trowbridge’s First Graders

“We did a center using geobards and I made a cube, cylinder, and a cone.”  (Yaritza)  “My center was equal shares.  Our first page we had to do was color one half of a shape.  The next page we had to color one fourth of a shape and below it we had to color two fourths of the shape.  Our next page was to write what part of the fraction was colored in.  On the last page, we had to color in the correct fraction of shapes.”  (Giovanny)

“Today in writing, we had to write about how many shapes we used in our shape monster.  For example, I used 14 shapes in all.”  (Jadine)  “I wrote what I used.  I used 1 rectangular prism and 1 sphere and 4 cylinders.”  (Ximena)
“We finished our shape monsters and Ms. Trowbridge took picture of our monsters to go with our writing.”  (Paola)

“It was fun when we were writing about our shape monster because I liked describing how many shapes we used.”  (Tatiana)
