It’s a Geometric World, 1st grade project (Day 29) by Ms. Trowbridge’s First Graders

IMG_1091 IMG_4520“After recess, we walked around the school so we could see what kind of shapes we need to make our aerial map out of 3-D shapes.” (Giovanny) “I noticed in the parking lot the flag was made out of a cylinder and there was a sphere on the top of the flag.” (Ximena)


“We built a 3-D cube and a pyramid out of marshmallows and toothpicks and we counted the vertices and the edges.” (Yaritza) We learned how to make shapes with other things instead of building them with blocks or drawing it.” (Paola) “We learned how to build with marshmallows and toothpicks.” (Jadine)

“We got a map of the school.” (Christopher) “Ms. Trowbridge highlighted the things on the map that we have to make.” (Tatiana) “It was great to see the whole school and what everybody is going to make.” (Pedro) “I can use the map to look at the whole school.” (Jay)

“Ms. Trowbridge did a rough draft map of everything that was on campus so that we can see what we needed to paint and cover.” (Paola)

“Tomorrow we’re going to paint the buildings and the ground of the map.” (Yaritza)
