It’s a Geometric World, 1st grade project (Day 32) by Ms. Trowbridge’s First Graders


“Today something unusual happened. All of the lights were off and we had to eat breakfast outside. It was a little bit cold outside.” (Giovanny) “When Ms. Trowbridge told us the lights were off we had to go to another classroom for a little bit.” (Jay)

“We glued what we wrote about our shape monsters on construction paper.” (Chris B.)


‘”We practiced talking to our buddies about shapes and our exhibition.” (Christian) “When somebody comes to the room you should introduce yourself. You should shake their hand and tell them your name clearly.” (Liz) “We got up in front of students in the class and answered the questions from our papers that we did yesterday.” (Paola) “I liked talking in front of people.” (Pedro) We also got a chance to hear about what other people learned.” (Paola)


“After lunch, we glued the buildings onto our 3-D aerial map.” (Anthony) “Group #2 used the map from the computer to trace shapes from the playground onto our map.” (Yaritza) Some groups used pattern blocks while waiting for their turn and I made a rectangle.” (Chris S.)
