There’s a Bat in our Room!!! Going Batty PBL by Ms. Trowbridge’s first grade

Today we had visitors from Happy Hollow Zoo.  The Happy Hollow educator brought 4 different types of nocturnal animals to share with our 1st grade students.

First, we talked about how senses are really important for nocturnal animals.  Seth from Ms. Dang’s class volunteered to show us how we would need to have super-sized senses if we were nocturnal animals.

We saw a snake,

a Madagascar hissing cockroach,

a hedgehog, and

a Hoary Bat!  We were so excited to see all the animals, but the bat was our favorite!

This afternoon we worked on writing final draft pages of our bat book.

They’re coming right along.  Stay tuned to see the finished product!
